Today started out great, the end of this nightmare that has been my life of planning for a party in an establishment that wants nothing to do with parties. In two hours the pumpkin carving contest will take place, and with much bitching and complaining the rules are finally in place and the prizes are STILL NOT IN. Sucky sucky sucky… not my fault, nothing I can do about it. I am just worried about presenting nothing to the first second and third place winners. Congrats you have exactly what you started out with, nothing.
This morning when I forced my leg into the right side chap (I am dressed as a cowgirl), I just about died. My body overheated, I was basically immobile and the stupid thing still wouldn’t close. My boyfriend had to basically hold me down and then I realized I was a skinny twig a few years ago, because my legs are not fat by any means.
Walking around my work dressed like a full on cowgirl, getting funny looks when people recognize I not only own a leather cowgirl hat, but I also own leather chaps, is annoying at best. While all the fun of this holiday finally sinks in my best friend comes over dressed in all black with a stamp and a return label attached to her person. She is black mail. We talk about the plan for the day and just how awesome our pumpkin is going to be when a boss walks by and says “I will not be staying for the contest, have a Happy Halloween, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.” He has a tendency to exaggerate so I laughed it off and as he walked away he looked at my friend and said “Goodbye Tiffany, you were great.” And then and there my heart broke a little. I am not looking forward to the rest of the day, and while he wasn’t a great employee, he was still a very nice man. Happy Halloween.
